Student Scholarship Program for STC Families 2025
Who is eligible for an STCEF Scholarship?
Any current grade 12 student who:
- is enrolled in a public or private school in Nova Scotia, Ontario or Saskatchewan;
- has a caregiver (parent, grandparent, or guardian) who works at Student Transportation of Canada Inc. or one of its affiliates;
- has attained a minimum 75% average for grade 11 and the first semester of grade 12 courses, and;
- is planning to continue their education beyond high school in an accredited institution of higher education or technical school.

- STCEF Scholarship Committee will consider the following for purposes of awarding scholarships:
- Academic Achievement
- Community Service
- Leadership
- Obstacles Overcome
- Special Talents
- Unique Endeavours
- May be used at any Post-Secondary institution of recipient’s choice. Education program must be designed to require one or more years to complete.
- Recipients will be notified by Friday, July 11, 2025, and will receive a letter from STCEF. A list of all winners will be posted in STC locations. Non-recipients will not be notified.
- All winners must submit a certificate of admission or a letter of acceptance to STCEF by July 21, 2025. Scholarship will be rescinded if letter is not provided.
- Scholarships can be used for: tuition, books, laboratory fees and other academic costs, and room and board when student is housed under the control of the institution.
- Scholarship cheques are sent by STCEF directly to students, but payable to the appropriate institution, during the week of August 4, 2025.
- If a recipient leaves the institution and there are STCEF scholarship funds remaining, the institution shall return the balance to STCEF.
- If a scholarship winner must delay their education for any reason, the scholarship will be held for up to two years from the date of high school graduation.
- Recipient must enroll as a full-time student.
What is an STCEF Scholarship?
The STC Education Foundation was created in 2010 to advance the educational opportunities available to deserving students. The STCEF Scholarships provide financial assistance to high school seniors who exhibit excellence in a well rounded educational and extra curricular program. The scholarships are made possible by the STC Education Foundation and its scholarship sponsors and are administered by the STCEF.
Instructions for submitting scholarship application
Applications will be disqualified if the following instructions are not followed:
- Complete all sections of the STCEF Scholarship Application.
- Attach your official school transcript for grade 9 – 12 if available.
- Upload a one-page essay describing why you deserve a STCEF Scholarship. Direct comments toward your motivation, leadership and academic accomplishments. Describe special talents and any creative or challenging activities that you have initiated, or any obstacles you have overcome to achieve your goals. Essay must be no more than one page in length, typed on one side of the page, and must include your name, school, address and postal code in a single line across the top of the page. Essays longer than one page will be disqualified. Font size must be 10 point or larger.
- INCLUDE: Application, essay, and official school transcript.
